Sunway Gardens

Sunway Gardens is a residential complex in Quarry Bay comprising six buildings with approximately 828 units situated on King's Road. The apartments vary in layout and represent the compact housing design typical of that era.

The development was completed in 1974 by Sun Hung Kai and Hopewell Holdings and represented a significant housing project of that time. This construction reflected the urgent need to house the city's growing population.

The complex reflects how Hong Kong addressed rapid urban growth in the 1970s through vertical residential design. This building approach became a defining feature of the city's neighborhoods during that period.

The complex sits very close to Quarry Bay MTR station, providing quick access to public transportation serving multiple lines. Its location on King's Road also offers good connections to nearby shops and local facilities.

All six blocks received their occupation permits at the same time when the project was completed. This coordinated approach allowed hundreds of units to become available for residents simultaneously.
