Krake, Dive coaster in Heide Park, Soltau, Germany
Krake is a steel roller coaster at Heide Park in Soltau, Germany, classified as a dive coaster. The track runs down a drop angled at 87 degrees and stretches 476 meters with speeds reaching 103 kilometers per hour.
Construction began in 2010 with installation by RCS company using track material from Bolliger & Mabillard. The ride opened in April 2011 after assembly was completed.
The name comes from the German word for octopus and fits the pirate theme of this park section. Visitors notice water-related design elements along the track.
Riders must be at least 140 centimeters tall and reach a minimum age of 12 years. The ride lasts a few minutes and sits in the Pirates Bay area of the park.
Three trains with single cars can carry 18 people in total at the same time. During the descent, water jets activate and create splash effects.
