Rubihorn

Rubihorn is a mountain summit in the Allgau Alps with rocky paths and open sections that lead through alpine landscapes. The route climbs steadily from the valley, passing through meadows and forests, until you reach the higher, rockier zones.

The mountain was increasingly visited from the 19th century onwards as alpine tourism grew in the region, and it remains an established climbing destination today. The network of marked paths developed over generations to guide hikers safely through the alpine terrain.

The shelters and paths around the mountain are today popular destinations for hikers who want to learn or deepen their mountain climbing skills. Many use the place to spend time in the open air and meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

The climb requires good stamina and steady legs, so start early and wear strong hiking boots. The terrain becomes slippery in snow or rain, so take extra care depending on the season.

During the climb you pass by Gaisalpsee, a natural mountain lake that mirrors the surrounding peaks in clear weather. This lake is a popular stopping point where many hikers rest and enjoy the view before continuing upward.
