Schwarzeck

Schwarzeck rises to approximately 1.236 meters and is crowned by a large summit cross visible from afar. Multiple walking trails ascend the mountain, passing through woodland and open areas that offer views across the surrounding landscape.

The location began as a forest management center in 1872 before transforming into a medical facility. The establishment of a water therapy institution in 1893 marked its shift toward health tourism and treatment.

The cross at the summit has served the local people as an important landmark for generations, offering spiritual and geographical orientation. The mountain and its surroundings remain tied to regional traditions and the daily life of nearby communities.

The location is easily accessible with two main circular trails suitable for different fitness levels. The best season for walking is spring through autumn, when paths are in good condition and weather is more favorable.

From the summit, visitors can see neighboring peaks Osser and Arber on clear days, making this a central vantage point in the region. This sight line connects three important high points of the landscape together.
