Bielefelder Kunstverein, Contemporary art museum in Bielefeld, Germany

The Bielefelder Kunstverein is a contemporary art museum in central Bielefeld, housed in a historic Renaissance building known as the Waldhof. It presents several changing exhibitions each year, covering painting, photography, installation, video, and other media.

Founded in 1929, the Kunstverein was set up by a board including Gerhard von Möller, Theodor Buddeberg, Heinrich Becker, Otto Lorentz and Walther Delius to fund the Kunsthaus on Hindenburgstraße, today Alfred-Bozi-Straße, and its exhibitions. Directors have included Andreas Beaugrand (1987–2002), Stefanie Heraeus (2003–2008), Thomas Thiel (2009–2019), Nadine Droste (2019–2023) and Oriane Durand (2023); since 2024 Katharina Klang and Victoria Tarak lead it. In 2014 it received the ADKV-ART COLOGNE prize for art associations.

The Kunstverein occupies the Waldhof, a 16th-century noble court of the Wolde family built in the Weser Renaissance style in Bielefeld's old town. Parts of the structure date back to the city's founding in the 13th century, and its vault is Gothic. The building's name and the rooms used for five to six exhibitions a year are what visitors encounter.
