Strom

Strom is a residential neighborhood on the southern edge of Bremen that spreads along the Stromer Landstraße for several kilometers. The area is shaped by open fields and the Ochtum River, where farms and individual houses sit scattered among green spaces.

The neighborhood retained its agricultural character through protective regulations that prevent dense construction. These rules have kept the rural character intact to this day.

The neighborhood maintains strong community bonds through local organizations, including a volunteer fire department and sports clubs that organize regular gatherings.

Local farm shops offer fresh produce and homemade goods, but residents need to travel to adjacent neighborhoods for larger purchases. The area is better accessed by car or bicycle than by public transport.

The protected fields surrounding the Ochtum River create unobstructed natural views from nearly every house window in the neighborhood.
