Burg Bodendorf, Medieval castle in Bad Bodendorf, Germany
The castle features a two-story manor house with seven axes, slate-covered hipped roof, and windows framed in basalt stone materials.
Dating from the early 13th century, the castle served as the ancestral seat of the Bodendorf family, with first written records appearing in 1227.
The structure incorporates elements of a water castle design, with remnants of former moats and defensive features visible around its perimeter.
Located at coordinates 50.5569°N, 7.21706°E, the castle stands near the intersection of Bahnhofstrasse and the main road through Bad Bodendorf.
A gate on the south side was specifically constructed in 1880 when the Ahr Valley railway began operations, connecting the castle to the new transportation system.
