Historical Museum of the Palatinate, History museum near Imperial Cathedral in Speyer, Germany
The Historical Museum of the Palatinate presents over one million artifacts across five permanent collections, covering regional history from prehistoric times through modern era.
Built in 1910 by architect Gabriel von Seidl, the museum combines collections from the Historical Society of the Palatinate, Rhine District, and City of Speyer.
The museum contains the Cathedral Treasury exhibition with imperial regalia and clothing remnants discovered in royal graves of the Salian Dynasty rulers.
Visitors can explore the museum from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with Monday openings during school holidays.
The Wine Museum section displays the oldest known wine bottle from the 4th century, along with extensive documentation of regional viticulture traditions.
