Eselsburg-Tower, Wooden observation tower in Ensingen, Germany
The Eselsburg Tower reaches 18.2 meters in height and features a wooden structure standing upon a stone foundation near Vaihingen an der Enz.
Built in 1925, the tower stands on Eselsberg hill where a medieval castle, first documented in 1188, previously stood until its stones were used for vineyard walls.
The tower, managed by the Swabian Albverein association, represents a connection point between local residents and their agricultural heritage amid the surrounding vineyards.
Visitors can access the tower on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 18:00, with a small restaurant operating during opening hours.
From the observation platform, visitors see a 360-degree panorama spanning from Stuttgart to the Black Forest, including views of the Löwenstein Mountains.
