The NRW School of Governance combines academic research with practical education through its master's programs and doctoral studies in political science and public administration.
Established in 2006 with support from RAG company, which provided initial funding of 100,000 euros for the first two years of operation.
The institution integrates perspectives from social sciences, public administration, law, and economics through interdisciplinary appointments and collaborative research projects.
Students engage with guest lecturers from politics, media, and business sectors while participating in research projects that address current political challenges.
The school maintains two core professorships focused on ethics in political management and annually awards the Visiting Professorship for Political Management of Stiftung Mercator.
