Media Docks, Former granary in Lübeck, Germany
Media Docks is a red brick structure on the northern Wallhalbinsel peninsula, located directly along the Trave River near Lübeck's historic city center. The building contains thirteen meeting spaces of varying sizes that accommodate groups from 10 to 500 participants.
The building was constructed in 1898 as a grain storage facility for Lübeck merchants who traded through the harbor. It was damaged in 1942 and received its distinctive stepped roofline during reconstruction after World War II.
The building houses media companies, advertising agencies, and technology firms that transformed this industrial site into a working hub of creative activity. These organizations bring regular visitors and professionals through the space, connecting the site's past as a trading center with contemporary business needs.
The location sits directly on the river and is close to the city center with good connections. Visitors should note that the building functions as an active office space with conference facilities, so checking access and visiting times in advance is helpful.
An original harbor crane manufactured by Kampnagel Hamburg remains attached to the building's exterior as a technical monument of industrial heritage. This crane itself documents the hands-on work that once took place when grain ships were unloaded here.
