The Gotisches Haus features thick red brick walls measuring between 80 centimeters and one meter, with pointed and round arch blind niches inside and outside.
Built in 1452, the building consists of two separate parts that were united under a common roof after 1724, marking a significant architectural evolution.
The cellar houses the permanent exhibition 'Alchemie und Alltag', displaying numerous archaeological findings including a complete horse skeleton from medieval times.
The building opens Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a lunch break, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offering free admission.
The basement extends four meters below street level and remains dry despite its proximity to the Havel River, demonstrating medieval engineering excellence.
