Ferdinand Robert Cremer designed this educational structure in 1865, marking the beginning of RWTH Aachen University's physical presence in the region.
The building contains Aula I, a central auditorium that hosts academic ceremonies, public lectures, and educational events throughout the academic year.

The structure incorporates interconnected spaces called Pick-Up points, creating designated areas where students, faculty, and industry professionals exchange knowledge.
