The Jesus-Christus-Kirche features a basilica design with galleries, characteristic of Rhineland church architecture from the 13th century.
Originally known as 'unser liewen Vrowen Kerke tho Meinertzhagen', the church began construction around 1220 and transformed into a Protestant church in 1567.
Before the Protestant Reformation, the church held annual processions displaying sacred relics and a revered statue of the Virgin Mary.
Located at Kirchplatz 4 in Meinerzhagen, the church opens daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and holds Wednesday morning services at 9:00 AM.
The church received its current name in 1976 to distinguish it from the newer Johannes Church in Meinerzhagen.
