The settlement emerged between 1974 and 1977 as a model housing project for the Federal Garden Exhibition of 1975, demonstrating green urban living concepts.
The neighborhood maintains a community center called KulturPoint where residents participate in language courses and social gatherings throughout the year.
The residential area excludes through traffic and provides direct access to Herzogenriedpark, integrating urban living with natural spaces.
The construction project resulted from a nationwide design competition won by architects Carlfried Mutschler, Heinz Eckebrecht, Gerhard Hauss, and Hans Richter.
