Holstein Tower, Gyro tower in Hansa Park, Germany.
Holstein Tower is a rotating gyro tower in Hansa Park that rises 100 meters, with a glass cabin that rotates during its ascent. The cabin carries up to 72 passengers per ride and reaches a maximum height of 70 meters.
The tower was built in 1988 and held the status of the park's tallest attraction for many years. In 2019, it was surpassed in height by the newly opened Highlander tower.
The tower is named after Schleswig-Holstein, the state where the park is located, and serves as a recognizable symbol for visitors. This connection to the region's identity makes it more than just a ride for many who come here.
The tower operates best during clear weather when visibility allows for good views from the rotating cabin. Since the cabin has glass walls on all sides, visiting on a day with clear skies makes the most of the experience.
A 30-square-meter flag of Schleswig-Holstein hangs at the tower's peak and retracts into a protective cover during winter months. This seasonal mechanism protects the regional banner from harsh weather.
