Hofgärtnerhaus Düsseldorf, Museum building in Hofgarten, Germany
The Hofgärtnerhaus features a semicircular design with a central entrance gate and mansard roof, located within the garden landscape of Düsseldorf.
Nicolas de Pigage designed this residence in 1769 for the court gardener, which was later destroyed by French artillery in 1796 and rebuilt in 1802.
The building transformed from a gardener's residence into a social center hosting concerts, balls, and amateur theater performances during the late 18th century.
The Hofgärtnerhaus currently houses the Theater Museum of Düsseldorf, offering visitors insights into the history of performing arts since 1988.
The structure underwent multiple expansions, including side wings and an additional floor in 1780, followed by further modifications during its 1955 reconstruction.
