Kulturinsel

Kulturinsel is an architectural complex and arts center in Halle housing multiple performance venues, including the Neues Theater Halle and Puppentheater Halle. The structure contains exhibition galleries, dining facilities, studios, a library, and spaces for creative work.

The complex was built on the site of the former Cinema of German-Soviet Friendship and developed through construction phases from 1980 to 2002. This transformation converted a historical location into a modern center for the arts in the city.

It serves as the main arts venue in Halle, where visitors can see theater performances, puppet shows, and exhibitions throughout the year. The place functions as a gathering point where the city celebrates its artistic life and creative events.

The complex is located at Große Ulrichstraße 51 and designed to accommodate visitors with various needs. Multiple entrances and accessible pathways make it easy for guests to navigate the different facilities and performance spaces.

The five-story building stands out with transparent facades and colored opening wings that create visual interest. A vertical inscription on the fire wall facing Spiegelstraße makes the structure recognizable from a distance and adds to its distinctive character.
