Künstlerhaus Edenkoben, Artist residence in Edenkoben, Germany
Künstlerhaus Edenkoben is an artist residence program with multiple buildings, studios, and living spaces set in a green setting. The compound includes a large event hall, library, printing workshop, plus apartments and guest rooms for creators working on their projects.
The residence was founded in 1987 by a cultural initiative in Rhineland-Palatinate and moved to its present location in 1997. This shift followed the property acquisition in 1995 and allowed the program to expand its facilities and artist capacity.
The residence brings together creators from different countries to work and exchange ideas, especially between German-speaking and French artists. Works emerge from literature, music, and visual arts shaped by this cross-border collaboration and shared creative space.
Visitors can attend art events and exhibitions held regularly throughout the year that are open to the public. It helps to check in advance what programs are running, since activities vary based on the season and current artist residencies.
The residence publishes a bilingual poetry collection titled Poetry of Neighbors, featuring works from gatherings of European poets held at the site. These publications grow from regular international poet meetings organized throughout the year.
