Gleisdreieck Park, Urban park in Kreuzberg, Germany
Gleisdreieck Park is a large green space in Kreuzberg with meadows, wooded sections, sports areas, and wide terraces connected by pathways at different levels. The entire site spans about 26 hectares and mixes natural landscapes with designed spaces for various activities.
The area was an important railway junction until 1945, then became unused industrial land. Citizens later initiated its transformation into a public park, which now preserves traces of that railway past.
The Rosenduftgarten brings together neighbors who maintain garden plots with plants from many backgrounds. You can see how this shared space brings people together across different communities.
The park offers recreational facilities including one of Berlin's largest skating areas, table tennis tables, jogging paths, and children's play zones. These facilities are connected by pathways, making it easy to move between different activity areas.
The park preserves old railway signals and industrial elements from its former use as a rail yard. These objects stand beside modern artworks such as 80-meter-long bench sculptures, showing how past and present coexist here.
