Schloss Langenburg

Schloss Langenburg is a castle on a mountain spur above the Jagst River and displays Renaissance architecture with towers, ceremonial halls, and a chapel. Inside, museum rooms contain historical furniture, tapestries, paintings, and weapons collections from past centuries.

The castle was first mentioned around 1226 and came into the possession of the Hohenlohe family in 1235. Between 1610 and 1627, it underwent major renovations that shaped its present appearance.

The castle courtyard displays Renaissance galleries and gables that still shape the appearance of the space today. These architectural details give a sense of how residents once arranged their living spaces.

Visitors can explore the castle through guided tours and view the various museum rooms with their collections. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes, as the location sits on a hilltop with several staircases to navigate.

The Four Seasons Hall contains a round stucco ceiling from 1616 with elaborate decorations. In the Automobile Museum located in the former stables, visitors can discover a collection of classic cars.
