Sipplinger Dreieck

Sipplinger Dreieck is a protected nature reserve divided into four sections with beech forests, pine stands, semi-dry grasslands, and fruit tree meadows at varying elevations. The rock formations at Rotweilerberg, some reaching seven meters tall, create a notable geological feature with their characteristic cap-like shape.

The area gained its protected status in 1989 through official designation, reflecting commitment to preserving this landscape. The assignment followed growing awareness of the natural diversity value in this region.

The area is known for its distinctive karst topography that visitors notice while exploring. The scattered fruit tree meadows between forest sections show traditional land use that shaped the region for generations.

The reserve is accessible from two main points: the Süßenmühle parking area or directly from Sipplingen's center. Access is straightforward, but visitors should wear sturdy footwear since paths traverse varied terrain.

The reserve spans four differently named sections with elevation ranges between 400 and 528 meters. These height variations allow visitors to discover multiple ecological zones within a relatively small area.
