Built between 1867 and 1869, the church construction was funded by industrialist Baron Carl Ferdinand von Stumm-Halberg to address the growing Protestant population in Neunkirchen.
Originally named Hoffnungskirche until 1931, the church holds regular Protestant services and functions as a central meeting point for the local religious community.
The interior underwent substantial modifications between 1980 and 1984, creating additional functional spaces while maintaining the structural integrity of the building.
During World War II, the church burned down completely and was reconstructed in 1949 by architect Rudolf Krüger with several structural modifications.
