Begerburg, Cultural heritage monument in Dölzschen district, Dresden, Germany.

Begerburg is a neo-Gothic residential building constructed on a cliff overlooking the Weißeritztal valley in Dresden's Dölzschen district, featuring medieval castle-like characteristics. The property contains multiple dining rooms connected by a service lift, demonstrating the luxurious interior design typical of 19th-century architecture.

In 1852, quarry owner Johann Gottlieb Beger commissioned architect Theodor Lehnert to design this residence, which replaced an earlier pleasure house called Carlsburg. After 1871, it transitioned from an inn into a private residence when authorities ended its commercial use following an accident involving a guest.

The building takes its name from the geological formation on which it stands, reflecting the connection between the structure and the landscape. This naming reveals how the house was integrated into the natural context of the valley.

The building sits on a cliff overlooking the Weißeritztal valley, offering views from its elevated position above the surrounding landscape. Visitors should note that this is private property and access may be limited, so it is advisable to check conditions in advance.

The structure was built upon a natural geological formation that gave the region its name and remains known as a natural monument. This close relationship between the building and the landscape formation makes it an interesting example of how historical sites were positioned.
