Tigerpark Dassow is a zoo in Dassow that specializes in housing large feline species in spacious enclosures designed for their needs. The facility displays a collection of tigers and lions that visitors can observe and learn about during their visit.
Dieter Farell began searching for a site in 1992 to settle with his trained big cats. A roughly three-hectare plot in Dassow's Holmer Berg industrial area was bought on 29 September 2000, and building permission followed in November 2001. The park opened on 29 May 2003; it now covers 5 hectares and belongs to the Farell family.
The park runs daily training sessions that show how these large cats behave naturally and how they interact with each other and their surroundings. Visitors can watch feeding demonstrations that reveal the eating patterns and social dynamics of the animals.
The park is open annually from Easter to October, so visits outside that window are not possible. It lies in the Holmer Berg commercial area directly on the B 105 toward Wismar, about 25 km from Lübeck. The grounds were built on land with groundwater and surface water, and two water ditches give visitors a clear view of the tigers.
The park keeps 19 big cats: 14 tigers and five lions, including the white lioness Ava, who has lived there since 2010 and takes part in the training sessions. The grounds cover 5 hectares, and the site lies in the Holmer Berg commercial area right by the B 105, 25 km from Lübeck.
