Amazone zu Pferde, Bronze equestrian statue at Altes Museum, Berlin, Germany.

The statue shows an Amazon warrior on horseback defending herself with a lance against an approaching panther at the eastern stairway entrance.

The sculpture, completed in 1841 by August Kiss, represents a significant example of the Berlin School of Sculpture during the 19th century.

The statue forms a thematic pair with the Lion Fighter statue by Albert Wolff, positioned at the western stairway of the Altes Museum.

The bronze sculpture, measuring 3.70 meters in height, offers limited wheelchair access and stands directly on a rectangular Muschelkalk base.

A 1929 copy of the statue was created through German-American collaboration and now stands at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
