The Dommuseum Ottonianum occupies a 650 square meter space in a former Reichsbank building opposite the towers of Magdeburg Cathedral.
The museum, established in 2018, presents findings from extensive cathedral excavations conducted between 2001 and 2010, including the lead coffin of Queen Editha.
Three exhibition sections detail Emperor Otto the Great, Queen Editha, the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, and archaeological discoveries from the medieval period.
Visitors can access the museum Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with adult tickets priced at 7.50 euros including audio guide options.
The museum features a real-time virtual model of Magdeburg Cathedral, displaying the construction phases of the first Gothic cathedral on German territory.
