Drägerpark, Public park in Lübeck, Germany.
Drägerpark is a roughly 4-hectare green space between Marli and Alexanderstraße streets in Lübeck. The area offers views toward the old town and the Wakenitz River, with a natural swimming area in the Marli section, a large children's playground with sand zones and water features, plus sports facilities.
The site traces back to Ferdinand Wallbrecht's purchase of the Marly estate in 1907, with the park designed by city gardener Erwin Barth in 1909. This development transformed the location into a publicly accessible green space shaped by gardening ideals of that era.
The park features design elements from Rococo and English landscape gardens with native trees and dense undergrowth across its sloping terrain. Visitors can discover natural planted areas that grow in varying densities throughout the space.
The park is accessible for various activities and offers plenty of space for walking, playing, and water sports during the bathing season. The sloping terrain requires sturdy footwear on unpaved paths and can become slippery in wet weather.
During winter months, the sloping terrain becomes a natural sledding hill used by locals and visitors alike. This seasonal transformation shows how the park changes throughout the year and offers new recreational options.
