Hanns-Seidel-Haus, High-rise building in Freimann district, Munich, Germany.
Hanns-Seidel-Haus is a high-rise residential tower with 22 floors reaching 60 meters high in Munich's skyline and housing around 620 apartments. The reinforced concrete structure is designed to accommodate student residents and is managed by a dedicated housing organization.
The building was realized after architect Ernst Maria Lang won a design competition in 1960, working with his partner Pogadl on the project. This tower became emblematic of Munich's post-war residential expansion in the Freimann district.
The building serves as student housing and has become part of Munich's academic community fabric, where many young people spend their formative university years.
The building features three elevators that provide convenient vertical access to all floors for residents. The location includes good connectivity and amenities that support daily living in this residential complex.
The building's rooftop once housed Manhattan, one of Munich's highest beer gardens, where visitors gathered in the clouds above the city. This remarkable venue created a unique social meeting point that made the rooftop memorable for generations.
