Hanns-Seidel-Haus, High-rise building in Freimann district, Munich, Germany.
The Hanns-Seidel-Haus extends 60 meters into the Munich skyline with 22 floors and measures 65 meters in length and 20 meters in depth.
Architect Ernst Maria Lang won the design competition in 1960 and received the planning contract with the architectural partnership Lang and Pogadl.
The building contains 620 individual apartments dedicated to students, managed by the Munich Student Union to support academic housing needs.
Three elevators service the reinforced concrete structure, providing vertical transportation throughout the building for its numerous residential occupants.
The building's rooftop previously housed Manhattan, which functioned as the highest beer garden in Munich for community gatherings.
