Schlosspark Putbus, English landscape park in Putbus, Germany
The Schlosspark Putbus extends over 75 hectares with numerous paths, small lakes, meadows, and carefully selected plant species forming a natural environment.
The park originated in 1725 as a French-style garden and underwent transformation in the early 1800s under Prince Wilhelm Malte to follow English landscape principles.
The park features architectural elements including the Orangerie from 1824, which served to acclimatize exotic plants from different regions of the world.
Visitors can explore the park and its deer enclosure without entrance fees, while discovering more than 60 different species of trees throughout the grounds.
The Swan Pond contains an artificial island connected by a bridge, with clear views extending toward the Greifswalder Bodden waters.
