The Pferdestall Am Amtmannsteich is a single-storey timber-framed building with a coach house and a hipped roof, probably built in 1783. It stands at the edge of the Friedeholz as part of the Syker Vorwerk ensemble. Since 2010 the former stable has housed the art museum's collection depot.

The Syker Vorwerk was founded in 1580 to supply the Wasserburg Syke. The single-storey timber-framed stable with a coach house and hipped roof dates probably from 1783. The estate served until 2002 as residence of the Amtmänner, Landräte and later Oberkreisdirektoren; since 2010 the former stables house the art collection's magazine.

The building is part of the Syker Vorwerk ensemble, founded in 1580 to supply the Syke water castle; until 2002 it housed the Amtmänner, Landräte and later Oberkreisdirektoren. Since 2005 the Bauernhausarchiv has occupied the site, and since 2010 the former horse stable has served as the depot of the art collection. The name Amtmannsteich recalls the pond of the officials who lived here.

The building stands at Am Amtmannsteich 2, on the edge of the Friedeholz, within the Syker Vorwerk ensemble together with the Amtshaus. It is not open as a riding facility; the former stable serves the Kunstmuseum as a storage depot for the art collection. Visitors should direct enquiries to the Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst, which has occupied the site with the Amtshaus since 2007.
