Kreismuseum Syke, Local museum and open-air heritage site in Syke, Germany

The Kreismuseum extends across 1.3 hectares, featuring historical buildings, including a Lower Saxon hall house from 1747 and a large granary from 1612.

Founded in 1937 by the district and city of Syke, the museum initially operated under the name Heimathaus - Museum for the County of Grafschaft Hoya.

The museum presents more than 30 different rural crafts and trades, demonstrating agricultural production methods, domestic economy, childhood experiences, and natural history.

During winter months, visitors can explore the museum from Tuesday to Friday between 2 PM and 5 PM, with extended hours until 6 PM on weekends from April to October.

The Forum Gesseler Goldhort, an 18-meter-high monolithic building opened in 2020, displays replicas and rotating original artifacts from the Gessel gold hoard discovery.
