Thormann-Speicher, Historic warehouse in Wismar Harbor, Germany.

The Thormann-Speicher is a warehouse of red brick with large windows and multiple floors located in the harbor area of Wismar. The building dates from the 19th century and displays typical features of industrial architecture from that period.

The warehouse building was constructed in 1862 and played a key role in storing and distributing goods at Wismar's port during the boom in maritime trade in northern Germany. The storage spaces were central to the city's economy and demonstrate its importance as a trading port.

The building preserves its original exterior facade and documents the trading activities that shaped Wismar's growth as a port town. The red brick architecture clearly shows how important this structure was for handling goods.

The Thormann-Speicher stands on Stockholmer Straße directly on the Alter Hafen, a short walk north of Wismar's Markt. The brick shell is closed to the public; the 2018 sale to a Schwerin investor foresees gastronomy, doctors' practices and offices, so interior access depends on those tenants. The harbour side is best viewed on foot from the quay.

The 2004 renovation replaced worn bricks with 17,000 handmade Danish ones, and new partly floor-to-ceiling openings on the northeast and southeast facades improve daylight. The city sold the building to a private investor from Schwerin in 2018; gastronomy, doctors' practices and offices are planned.
