Immermann Tower, Office tower in Stadtmitte, Düsseldorf, Germany.
Immermann Tower is a high-rise office building located in downtown Düsseldorf with a facade of steel and glass elements reflecting the design language of its era. The structure spreads across 16 floors and holds office spaces, with its modern exterior as a defining feature of the city's post-war skyline.
The tower was completed in 1956 as Düsseldorf's first post-war modern high-rise and was originally called Dommelhaus. A major renovation in 1987 brought updated exterior features and resulted in the building being renamed to reflect its importance to the city.
The tower takes its name from Karl Immermann, a noted dramatist from Düsseldorf whose works shaped German theatre and literature. Today it stands as a recognizable part of the downtown landscape, visible to people passing through the central district daily.
The tower stands in a central location with easy access via public transportation, making it convenient to reach from different areas of the city. Being in the business district, the surroundings are busy during business hours but quieter in the evenings.
Shortly after completion, the tower briefly held the record as Düsseldorf's tallest structure, becoming a symbol of the city's post-war economic recovery. This distinction as a modern landmark was later surpassed as newer high-rises appeared in the city.
