Kantili, Mountain summit in Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna, Greece
Kantili is a mountain on the western coast of Euboea, rising to about 1,250 meters at its peak. Its steep slopes descend toward the North Euboean Gulf, with the range extending significantly along the shoreline.
The mountain region contains remains of ancient Greek settlements, showing that people lived here from ancient times onward. Archaeological finds in the area point to a long history of human habitation in this part of Euboea.
Local people call the peak Kourouvlo, a traditional name that shows how closely the nearby community connects with this mountain. The villagers of Troupi use this name in daily speech, keeping alive their personal link to the landscape.
A marked trail starts from Troupi village and climbs through pine forests to reach the summit, taking several hours and requiring good hiking shoes. Start early in the day and bring plenty of water, as the sun is strong at higher elevations.
The mountain forms a natural barrier along the coast that prevented the construction of coastal roads and left the surroundings undeveloped. This kept this stretch of Euboea more untouched and natural compared to other coastal areas in the region.
