Panachaiko, Mountain summit near Patras, Greece
Panachaiko rises to an elevation of 1,926 meters with multiple peaks, including the main summit Palavou Pyrgos and the western peak Voidias at 1,836 meters.
The mountain region contains remnants of ancient cities and sanctuaries, including the Salmeniko acropolis and the medieval castle ruins at Pournarokastro.
The mountain slopes house several monasteries, including the Monastery of Eleousa near Pititsa, which maintains traditional Greek Orthodox practices.
Two mountain refuges managed by the Hellenic Mountaineering Club of Patras provide shelter and support for hikers exploring the marked mountain trails.
The mountain contains the largest wind farm in Greece, with a capacity of 50.5 MW, located on the Giorgi Vouno peak at 1,804 meters.
