Lepreon, Archaeological site in Mount Minthi, Greece
The archaeological site of Lepreon contains extensive fortifications with walls and towers reaching heights of 4 meters along the ancient acropolis.
Founded by Minyan settlers after their expulsion from Lemnos, Lepreon served as the capital of Triphylia until its abandonment between 800 and 1000 AD.
The remains include a Doric peripteral temple dedicated to Demeter, with preserved column drums and parts of the entablature stored at the location.
The site maintains different seasonal schedules, operating from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM in winter and 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM during summer months.
Located on western slopes of Mount Minthi, the site contains structures dating from Early Helladic period through Classical and Hellenistic times.
