Vorres Museum

The Vorres Museum is an art facility in Peania spread across multiple buildings on large grounds, housing more than 6000 objects. The collection covers different periods of Greek art history and displays how artistic practice developed in the country.

The facility was established in 1983 and incorporates two traditional village houses from the early 19th century as well as ancient stable remains on its grounds. These historical structures serve as the basis for the exhibition spaces today.

The collections feature works by Greek artists from the late 20th century, reflecting artistic movements that developed from pre-war times through the contemporary period. Visitors can see how artistic practice evolved across different decades in Greece.

The facility is open to individual visitors on weekends, while larger groups need advance reservation. It is helpful to allow enough time to explore the grounds and its various buildings.

The grounds feature dry stone wall gardens that have remained unchanged for over 50 years, creating distinct spaces between exhibition areas. These established landscape features are preserved as part of the overall museum experience.
