Lembet Mosque, Ottoman mosque in Stavroupoli, Greece
The Lembet Mosque is a two-story structure with a minaret rising from its northwest side. The building measures approximately 18 meters long and 13 meters wide, displaying the typical layout of a religious facility from its era.
The mosque was built in 1870 during the waning years of Ottoman rule in Macedonia. It later received an alternative name connected to the family of a regional administrator from that period.
The mosque carries a name tied to Ottoman-era figures, reflecting its connection to the region's past. Visitors can observe how this building represents a layer of religious life that shaped the local community.
The structure sits in Pavlos Melas Municipality and underwent restoration work to improve its condition. Visitors should expect older building conditions and plan their visit accordingly, as access may be limited during certain times.
In 2005, the entire structure was relocated 22 meters to accommodate road expansion in the area. This unusual intervention significantly altered the original orientation of the minaret.
