Lembet Mosque, Ottoman mosque in Stavroupoli, Greece
The Lembet Mosque features two floors with a minaret attached to the northwest facade, measuring 18 meters in length and 13 meters in width.
Built in 1870 during the final decades of Ottoman rule in Macedonia, the mosque received its alternative name, Ferideh Hanim, from the wife of Thessaloniki governor Hassan Fehmi Pasha.
The Greek Ministry of Culture designated this religious structure as a preserved monument in 2003, recognizing its importance in the architectural heritage of Thessaloniki.
Located at coordinates 40.660556 latitude and 22.935833 longitude in Pavlos Melas Municipality, the mosque underwent restoration work beginning in 2011.
In 2005, engineers relocated the entire mosque structure 22 meters toward Mecca to accommodate road construction, resulting in the removal of the minaret base.
