10th arrondissement of Marseille, Municipal district in eastern Marseille, France
The 10th arrondissement is an eastern district of Marseille composed of six neighborhoods: La Capelette, Menpenti, Pont-de-Vivaux, Saint-Loup, Saint-Tronc, and La Timone. These areas form a zone that combines residential streets, local shops, and everyday services.
The district developed with the Saint-Tronc limestone quarry, which opened in 1840 and supplied building materials for much of Marseille's construction. This quarry played a major role in shaping the area and left a mark on the local landscape.
