Cité internationale universitaire de Paris, International student housing complex in 14th arrondissement, France
Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris spreads across a large park between Porte de Gentilly and Porte d'Orléans, featuring forty residential buildings for students. The campus includes libraries, theaters, sports facilities, and multiple restaurants distributed throughout the grounds.
André Honnorat founded this project in 1920 to house international students. The first residence, the Deutsch de la Meurthe Foundation building, opened in 1925 and became the foundation for this growing community.
The residential buildings express different national identities through their architectural design, each structure reflecting its country's aesthetic traditions. Walking through the campus, you encounter this variety of styles that speaks to the international community living here.
The campus is easily accessible by public transportation, allowing visitors to explore the grounds at their own pace. The expansive green spaces make it pleasant to spend time walking around and discovering the various buildings and outdoor areas.
Le Corbusier designed the Brazil House with modern elements that stand apart from the traditional architectural styles of other buildings on the campus. This structure exemplifies how different design approaches coexist across the grounds.
