Parc Montsouris, English garden in 14th arrondissement, France
The 15-hectare Parc Montsouris features winding pathways, a central lake, expansive lawns, and numerous species of trees creating natural landscapes throughout the grounds.
Napoleon III commissioned the park in 1867 as part of a larger project to establish four major green spaces across Paris, transforming a former quarry into gardens.
The park serves as a meeting point for students from the International University City of Paris, who gather on the lawns for social activities.
The gates open daily from 7:00 AM, with closing times varying between 5:45 PM in winter and 9:30 PM during summer months.
A meridian marker stands in the park, indicating the former Paris meridian which French maps used as their longitude reference point until 1884.
