Château Bélair-Monange, Premier Grand Cru Classé B wine estate in Saint-Émilion, France

Château Bélair-Monange is a wine estate covering 26 hectares of vineyards planted on limestone plateaus and slopes of blue clay. The production focuses on Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes that are crafted into wines.

The estate traces its origins to Roman times, when vineyards first took root in this region. By the 1850s, it had achieved status as a leading wine producer in Saint-Émilion according to contemporary rankings.

The name Monange honors Anne-Adèle Moueix, the first woman of the family to settle in Saint-Émilion after the property's acquisition in 2008. Her influence shaped how the estate operates and is remembered today.

When visiting, note that harvesting is done by hand and fermentation happens in temperature-controlled vats. The wines then age in French oak barrels, which means seasonal activities vary throughout the year.

The limestone plateau produces wines with distinctive mineral notes that mark this location's character. The blue clay slopes nearby contribute intensity and complexity, creating a balance that defines the wine.
