Corsica Regional Natural Park

The park encompasses forty percent of Corsica island with mountains, forests, coastal areas, and rivers spread across eleven micro-regions through 145 communes.

The establishment of the regional natural park in 1972 marked a milestone in environmental protection, with additional recognition through UNESCO World Heritage status in 1983.

The park territory includes numerous traditional villages where residents maintain Corsican customs, crafts, and agricultural practices passed down through generations.

Visitors access the park through marked trails connecting different zones, with information centers providing maps and guidance for outdoor activities throughout the seasons.

The protected area contains over 200 plant species found nowhere else on Earth, forming specialized habitats within Mediterranean mountain ecosystems.
