Calanque de Port-Miou, Limestone cliffs and marina in Cassis, France

The area was part of feudal lands during the medieval period before passing through different ownerships over centuries. Modern harbor infrastructure developed mainly during the 20th century to serve leisure boating activities.
The Petit Prince walking trail circles the peninsula, connecting visitors to the location where Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's aircraft remains were found.
You can reach this inlet on foot from town center or use a shuttle service from nearby parking areas. Early morning or off-season visits work best if you prefer fewer crowds and easier navigation.
An underground freshwater spring emerges from the seabed and creates a visible cold current where it meets the salt water with distinctive patterns. You may spot this location as a darker discolored area on the water surface.
