Mediterranean University Centre

The Mediterranean University Centre is an educational facility on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice featuring modern lecture spaces. The building contains a large amphitheater with seating for around 550 people and also houses a specialized library.

The facility was founded in 1933 through the initiative of Mayor Jean Medecin and Minister Anatole de Monzie. It was created to provide higher education opportunities to the residents of Nice.

The library housed within the center preserves manuscripts, archives, and collections of signed works open to public viewing. These holdings reflect the intellectual history of the region and invite visitors to explore.

The center is open on weekdays from early morning until early evening for visitors. If you plan to attend or visit for an event outside regular hours, check ahead about conditions and access arrangements.

Above the amphitheater stage hangs a large fresco titled Allegory of the Mediterranean. This artistic work gives the lecture space a cultural and visual dimension that visitors notice upon entering.
