Château de la Grande Filolie

The Château de la Grande Filolie is an early 14th-century castle with a square layout and towers at its corners, surrounded by walls with arrow slits. The main entrance features a historic arched opening and retains traces of what was once a drawbridge system for defense.

The castle was built in the early 1300s and underwent changes in the 15th and 16th centuries as defense methods evolved. It suffered significant damage during the religious conflicts of the 1570s.

The chapel on the grounds displays a Maltese cross, reflecting the religious life that took place here. Such details reveal the beliefs of those who inhabited the space.
