Téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi, Alpine aerial tramway in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France

The cable car system extends over 5,420 meters, connecting Chamonix to the summit station at an altitude of 3,842 meters in the Mont Blanc massif.

Constructed in 1954, this transportation system held the title of world's highest cable car for two decades and maintains the record for greatest vertical ascent.

The name Aiguille du Midi references the mountain's position relative to Chamonix's church, marking the sun's position at noon when passing over its peak.

The journey consists of two sections, requiring approximately 20 minutes to reach the summit, with an intermediate stop at Plan de l'Aiguille station.

The Step into the Void glass skywalk permits visitors to stand in a transparent cube suspended 1,035 meters above the mountain slopes.
