The Télécabine de Planpraz transports visitors from Chamonix at 1090 meters to the Planpraz station at 1979 meters through an eight-passenger cabin system.
Built in 1928, the lift system underwent major renovations in 1979, and the current eight-passenger gondolas were installed in 2008, maintaining some original concrete pylons.
The gondola serves as a gateway to numerous mountain activities, connecting hikers to the Grand Balcon Sud trail and providing winter access to the Brevent ski area.
The lift operates from mid-June through September for summer activities and December through April for winter sports, with tickets available at the base station.
The midstation features La Bergerie restaurant and provides direct access to multiple hiking paths, including the 16-kilometer trail to Lac Blanc and Lacs Noirs.
