La Vapeur, Dijon, Concert venue in Dijon, France

La Vapeur is a public music venue in Dijon dedicated to contemporary music, with two concert halls and seven rehearsal studios. Its facade carries a large orange sign reading "la vapeur" in white cursive letters above a black canopy and a dark red entrance door, with light grey corrugated metal panels above. Renovated and extended, it reopened on 7 February 2018.

In 1993 cultural associations and musicians, pushed by the Hiero federation of rock artists and associations, campaigned for a venue in Dijon; the city granted a disused building on avenue de Stalingrad. La Vapeur opened on 3 April 1995, co-managed by Hiero and the city, which soon took over direct management. In 2002 it took charge of its own programming, and in 2006 it became a public establishment supported by the city, the Conseil général, DRAC, SACEM and CNV. Renovation and extension work began in August 2016 and the new venue opened on 7 February 2018.

La Vapeur is a founding member and co-producer of the GéNéRiQ festival, first held in 2007 and shared with five other venues of the Grand Est, including the Noumatrouff in Mulhouse and the Eurockéennes de Belfort. The festival takes music into everyday places with an eclectic programme. Its Café Culturel opened in 2005.

The venue sits on avenue de Stalingrad in a converted disused building, with the entrance under a black canopy beneath the orange "la vapeur" sign. It reopened on 7 February 2018 after renovation and extension work begun in August 2016, so the halls and seven rehearsal studios are recent. Concerts are split between two halls, with half the programme given to local associations.
